Description

Juicy peach slices swirl in melting butter and sugar, releasing cinnamon-scented steam as a crunchy oat topping bakes to golden perfection. Serve warm for a comforting, sweet-spiced treat.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium peaches peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  6. Evenly sprinkle the buttery oat mixture over the peaches in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  8. Allow the crisp to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use ripe but firm peaches
  • Let the crisp rest briefly so the juices thicken
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
  • Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
