Description
Bright watermelon puree meets tangy lime and effervescent bubbles, all framed by a lip-smackingly spicy Tajín-salt rim for a playful, refreshing sip.
Ingredients
- 2 cups seedless watermelon chunks
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- 1/2 cup sparkling water
- 1 tablespoon Tajín seasoning
- 1 tablespoon coarse salt
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Pour the Tajín seasoning and coarse salt onto a small shallow plate and mix until evenly combined.
- Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass, then press the rims into the Tajín-salt mixture to coat.
- In a blender, combine the watermelon chunks, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup; blend until smooth.
- Optionally strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp.
- Fill each rimmed glass with ice cubes and pour the watermelon mixture over the ice.
- Top each glass with sparkling water and gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a light sprinkle of Tajín before serving.
Notes
- Use a fully ripe seedless watermelon for the best natural sweetness.
- Adjust the amount of simple syrup based on the sweetness of your watermelon.
- For an extra-cold drink, chill glasses in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before serving.
- Add a few thin jalapeño slices to the blender for a spicier version.
