Description

A velvety blend of sour cream and mayo meets fiery horseradish, crisp green onions, and a hint of cayenne. Chill to let the flavors fuse, then scoop onto chips or spread on bread for an addictive, tangy bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
  2. Stir in green onions, chives, and prepared horseradish until evenly distributed.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper; mix well.
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  6. Give the dip a final stir before serving.

Notes

  • Best if chilled for at least one hour before serving to deepen the flavors.
  • Adjust the amount of horseradish or cayenne pepper for your preferred heat level.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serves well with potato chips, veggie sticks, or as a sandwich spread.
