Description

Ripe figs burst with sweetness while tangy goat cheese and toasted walnuts add creaminess and crunch. A simple honey-balsamic dressing ties it all together for a salad that sings with texture and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 each fresh figs
  • 100 g goat cheese
  • 4 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and toast walnuts for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Remove and let cool.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper to make the dressing.
  3. Trim stems off figs and slice each into quarters.
  4. Arrange mixed salad greens on a serving platter or individual plates.
  5. Scatter fig slices, crumbled goat cheese, and toasted walnuts over the greens.
  6. Drizzle dressing evenly over the salad and gently toss to combine.
  7. Serve immediately to maintain crispness.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm figs for the best balance of sweetness and texture.
  • Toasting walnuts enhances their flavor and adds extra crunch.
  • Leftover dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Add a handful of thinly sliced prosciutto for an optional savory twist.
