Description
Imagine slicing into a golden, garlic-kissed crust to reveal a flood of stretchy cheddar and mozzarella. Each bite crackles with crispy sourdough, herb-flecked butter, and gooey cheese that pulls apart in perfect, warm strings.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley chopped
- Pinch salt
- Pinch black pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the unbuttered sides of the bread, then top with chopped parsley.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and place the sandwiches buttered side down in the pan.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until the bread is golden and crispy, then carefully flip and cook the other side until the cheese is fully melted, about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, let rest for a minute, then slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a cast iron skillet for extra crispiness and even heat distribution.
- Feel free to swap in your favorite cheeses or add a slice of tomato for variation.
- For a kick, sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes into the garlic butter.
- Serve hot with a side of marinara sauce or pickles for contrast.
