Description

These crunchy pasta chips boast crisp edges dusted with savory herbs and cheese, popping with each bite. Ready in minutes, they’re perfect for munching solo or pairing with dips.

Ingredients

  • 225 grams dried short pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cook the pasta in boiling water for 7 to 8 minutes until just al dente, then drain and let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the cooked pasta with olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Arrange the pasta in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving small gaps for air circulation.
  5. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket or stirring halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping.
  6. Continue cooking until the pasta chips are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for a few minutes to reach maximum crunch.

Notes

  • Use a short, uniform pasta shape like shells or penne for best results.
  • Shaking the basket halfway through prevents uneven browning and sticking.
  • Store any leftover pasta chips in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
  • Feel free to experiment with spices such as paprika or chili flakes for extra flavor.
