Description

A cozy fusion of tart apple juice and bold black tea simmered with warming spices, then swirled with milk and honey for a creamy, aromatic latte that tastes like autumn in a mug.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 black tea bag
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 cardamom pods cracked
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Pinch nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan combine apple juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, ground ginger, and nutmeg.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat and let it infuse for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the black tea bag and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove the tea bag, cinnamon stick, cloves, and cardamom pods using a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Stir in the milk and honey, then heat until the latte is hot but not boiling.
  6. Pour into a mug and sprinkle a little extra nutmeg on top before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute dairy milk with almond or oat milk for a vegan version.
  • Adjust honey to taste or use maple syrup as an alternative sweetener.
  • For a stronger chai flavor, steep the tea and spices for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of cinnamon powder for presentation.
